Edited 2016/05/22:I have seen that another reviewer gave 1-star, saying that his/her copy had duplicate pages and missing states. Also, Amazon used to list two version of this book that have recently been "merged" .
I am now sure that there are multiple versions of this book, some that are perfect (like mine) and some with misprint. I still stand by my 5-star rating, since I find this book awesome. But make sure that you buy it somewhere you can either check it or return it if the revision is not correct!
I attach some pictures of the edition of my book, as well as a "proof" that it has Alaska. Hopefully this will help you find a good one!

I am not from USA, but during my temporary assignment here I decided to teach my toddler son about the country we currently live in. We bought this into a local store because we like the combination of childish drawings and useful facts. The book is great: all pages are hard cardboard, the drawings are cute and, since it has multiple facts about each of the states, you will learn together with your child. I completely recommend it!

My son got this book as a gift, it's great for kids with tons of information on all the states. Well, all but two that is. Somehow, both Alaska and Alabama are missing. The book is brand new, no missing pages, just missing states. Now, to be honest, I don't give a crap about Alabama and all its inbred cross eyed trailer park dwellers, but Alaska, I mean c'mon kids love Alaska!! Now, to be fair, my son is only two so he doesn't realize somethings fishy with this book. Until he learns to read and comprehend complex matters like editorial failures and incompetence, this book will be fine.
I saw this book while waiting for my son at the airport in Kansas City today. Being from Kansas, I immediately flipped to Kansas. It described Walt Disney's first animation studio being in Kansas City. That studio was in Kansas City, MISSOURI!!! The book is supposed to be about the 50 STATES! Not cities in neighboring states!
LOVE this book!!! Mine not missing Alabama & Alaska... double-check, if the cardboard pages aren't just stuck together -
you can easily part them (that could be the reason).
Do NOT buy this book! As another review stated, mine also had 2 duplicate pages and 2 states left out. I contacted the publisher AND Barnes & Noble (the book is a Barnes & Noble published book) and neither were willing to rectify the situation.
